Men with prostate cancer and their families will benefit from a doubling of the number of specialist prostate cancer nurses, the federal government says.Health Minister Tanya Plibersek said the government would provide $7.2 million over the next four years to increase the number of specialist nurses from 12 to 25.The extra nurses would be sent to areas of need around the country "as soon as possible", including regional centres and community settings.The nurses will provide a contact point for patients and their families and provide help, support and answers about diagnosis, treatment and afte...
